LETTER TO KIDS
Dad paid for Internet here at our hotel Leonardo on the shores of the sea of Galilee. So amazing here! We went on a late night boat ride last night as Michael Wilcox spoke about Christ walking on the water and calming the sea. It was as quiet and calm as you could not believe it. We are just so blessed to be here. We saw the Qumran caves where the dead sea scrolls were discovered and also rode a tram up to Masada were the Jews committed suicide instead of being captured for slavery. It was amazing to be there. You can ITunes a moves of Masada and see it, it is an old movie. We will watch it when we get home. We also went to the dead sea and some of our group, most of them, got in the water but we didn't. OH, YES, we had our suits and it would nave been fun but there were people everywhere and the bathrooms were sick and we couldn't do it. Not disappointed though. We still had a good time. We had a LONG day and I started to get a bit sickish by nightfall. It maybe was somewhat of a heat stroke but mostly it is just me. Today wasn't too good for me. Although I went with everyone on the busses, I feel like I missed most of the day. I feel much better now so don't worry at all. I had a blessing and we have had a few spiritual things happen concerning my health. Anyway, today we went to Gilgad (?) and Nazareth and the place where Christ turned the water into wine for the wedding. We saw a 2000 yr old boat that was found in the sea of Galilee and was most assuredly used during Jesus time. Oh, there's just much to say and we are seeing so so much. We are praying for you all everyday and hope all is well. If you need us, call the numbers that we left. We will be here one more night and then on to Bethlehem I think for four nights and then back to Amman for two more nights and then home, I think. Sara, Laci forwarded your letter and so still write to us. Someone please forward this to the grandparents so they will know we are still alive. Love Love Love you all....mom and dad

This morning we traveled to Ein Harod, the spring where Gideon chose his three hundred men before routing the Midianites. Then it was on to the top of MT Carmel where Elijah had his historic confrontation with the priests of Baal with its dramatic conclusion. We traveled on to Nazareth, home of the Savior for thirty years of his life. Later we enjoyed a view of the Jezreel Valley from Nazareth dominated by MT Tabor where we disscussed the transfigurations of the Savior. Deborah and Barak gathered their forces at Mt Tabor and defeated Sisera's iron chariots. We also visited today the Arbel Cliff for a fantastic overview of the Sea of Galilee. |
