Day 10- Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes- April 16,2012

Getting ready for the day, checking email  really quick!
8am leave hotel

Aww, Cookie Crisp in TIBERIAS, who would think? So happy!

We stopped by the edge of the Sea of Galilee, early in the morning before heading north to Capernaum, where so many wonderful events and teaching of the Savior took place. We then stopped at the Mount of Beatitudes where we pondered the great truths delivered by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. We passed the Canaanite city of Hazor on our way to Tel Dan. Here Jeroboam erectd a golden calf for the Israelites to worship. The restored walls and gates give us an excellent idea of the fortifications Joshua would have faced as he conquered the land. We visited Banias, known as Caesarea Philippi in the days of Jesus. This is where the Savior asked his disciples, "Whom do ye say that I am?" We then return to the Leonardo Plaza for our final night in Galilee.

Luke 5 Need more nevertheless times in our lives. Forsake all and follow Him. God tends to call us when the nets are full, not empty - It's harder when the nets are full, accept it or learn the will of the Lord-

Syria with the border fence in the foreground

A large truck exploded in front of us just before we got to it coming the other direction. 5pm- we just  past the fence between Israel & Syria- no photos are aloud to be taken towards Israel military base, only towards Syrian fence. No tanks 10-15 miles from boarder fence on both side. We don't know what happened to cause this explosion but we did hear gun fire and bombs going off when we were stopped several miles up the road. We had to turn our bus around on the 2 lane road and head back a different direction. It was tense.
